County Carlow is located in Leinster province in the south east of Ireland and is one of the country’s smallest counties. The county’s landscape features a number of beautiful valleys and the lovely Barrow and Burrin rivers. It was here at the meeting of both rivers that Carlow found its name meaning ‘Four Lakes’. Carlow is bordered by the beautiful Blackstairs Mountains. It has a population of around 50,000 people.
