Less than an hour’s drive south of Dublin’s city center, Wicklow is known as “The Garden of Ireland”. Located in the province of Leinster the county was named after the town of Wicklow and is also the county seat. County Wicklow was established in 1606 and was the last of the original counties. As of the 2006 census, it was the 17th most populated of Ireland's 32 counties with more than 126,000 residents.
