Within walking distance to the pretty medieval heritage town of Athenry, an area that is rich in history and made famous by the song, 'The Fields of Athenry'. It is also an ideal base for touring the Burren. Horse riding, golf and angling are all located nearby. Why not pack a picnic and camera and take a day to visit the Aran Islands. It’s a great idea to hire bicycles and enjoy the stunning scenery of the Islands at your own pace, this is the best way to really appreciate the placid and tranquil beauty. Take a day trip by train to the vibrant and exiting city of Galway have a look around it's fantastic shops and enjoy a meal in one of the it's award winning  restaurants.

Galway Airport is a only 15 minutes by car from Raheen. Shannon Airport and Ireland West Airport (Knock) are less than one hour by car. Dublin Airport is only 2 hours by car.

Our Cottage at Raheen is only five minutes walk to Athenry Train station. Athenry Train Station is on the main line to Dublin and Limerick Galway Junction, it is just a short 10 minute journey to Eyre Square in Galway City. The train journey from Athenry to Athlone is 45 mins & just 2 hours to Dublin Huston Station.
