Killavullen Village - the home to Landlords the Hennessey's, they fled Ireland after the Battle of Kinsale. They are now well known the world over as The Hennessy Brandy family. The family home is on the rock at the right of the bridge as you enter the village. The Hennessy's were relations of the Nagles.

Killavullen Farmers' Market - is held at the Nano Nagle Centre every second Saturday from 10.30am to 1pm. Buy the best organic produce, plants, crafts and home-made confectionery.

Monanimy Castle - this former home of Nano's ancestors overlooks the Blackwater RIver on the opposite side to Killavullen Village. This keep has been restored and is again lived in.

Doneraile Park (8 miles) - 400 acres of parkland which has long and short walks. There are also two herds of deer in the park.

Bridgetown Prioy (3 miles) - take a picnic and enjoy the meeting of the waters - Awbeg and Blackwater.

Mass Rock Glenville (8 miles) - there is a Famine Walk across the road from the Mass Rock.

From Cork to Limerick, Come through Mallow (N20)

From Mallow:

Take the N72 road to Fermoy out to Mallow.

From speed limit signa as you leave the town, we are 6 miles along that road.

You will see a small sign for Nano Nagle Centre about 200 yards before you reach our gate o teh RIGHT hand side. Turn in and drive down the avenue to the Centre (you cannot see it from the gate).

There is a bad railway bridge just after our gate - if you drive that far you have gone too far and need to turn back!!

From Dublin, Come through Mitchelstown

From Mitchelstown:

Main cork road to Mitchelstown

Take the new Mitchelstown by-pass at the roundabout as you enter the town. At the next roundabout take the exit for Mallow, N73.

Continue straight for about 12 miles. Take a left turn marked: Killavullen 6 Km. (There are a couple of left turns close together at that part of the road; be sure you take the correct one).

Continue on that (small) road for a few miles until you come to a stop sign at a crossroads with a sign for Killavullen facing you. Turn right at that crossroads on to the N72 Fermoy to Mallow Road.

We are a few hundred yards along that road, immediately after a bad old railway bridge. Indicate left as you come over the bridge; our gate is on the left immediately you come off the bridge.

Turn in and drive down the avenue to the Centre (you cannot see it from the gate).
